Level control is used in many different industries to detect the level of many
different substances. Some applications are as simple as on/off control
for pumping water yet others require more advanced solutions for multiple set
points and caustic solutions. Whatever your level control needs are,
RSTech can help.
Discrete Level
Discrete level uses one of more sensors to detect liquid at
various levels. This can be done with float switches, ultrasonic,
capacitive proximity sensors, and other means. Changing the set point
often requires adjusting or moving the sensor but in some cases, smarter devices
can be adjusted through software.
Analog Level
Analog level typically uses one sensor which provides a
signal proportional to the actual level. The signal is typically connected
to a controller or PLC which will display or control as needed. When
coupled with a PLC and PanelView, analog level control becomes very powerful and
easy to use. Changing level set points can be done quickly and easily at
the PanelView terminal and can be displayed in inches, mm, feet, or any unit you
please. This method also allows for a very graphical, real-time view of
the actual level from the PanelView screen.
