PLC Programming

RSTech’s primary service is PLC programming. We offer various levels of programming including: 

• Complete programs for new equipment
• Complete programs for existing equipment requiring upgraded automation and controls
• Small programming additions to existing equipment to enhance performance such as reducing overall cycle time or streamlining a process
• Small programming additions to existing equipment to provide new functionality such as the addition of a new motor, button, sensor, etc.

RSTech recommends and support the following PLC platforms and software:

• Allen-Bradley ControlLogix - RSLogix5000
• Allen-Bradley CompactLogix - RSLogix5000
• Allen-Bradley SLC500 - RSLogix500
• Allen-Bradley MicroLogix - RSLogix500
• Allen-Bradley PLC5 - RSLogix5

Programming of other PLC brands and platforms are available upon request on a per-job basis.

PLC Programs can include:

• Address symbols and descriptions for easy identification of I/O and internal memory
• Easy to understand address symbols such as START_PB and PUMP1_MS
• Detailed rung comments and page titles for “plain English” explanations of logic
• Organized subroutines for quick location of equipment subsections
• Spare logic for faults, machine sequence steps, messages, and timers that may be needed later
• Well organized and easy to follow programs for quick troubleshooting by Maintenance staff
• Latest software versions used to ensure compatibility with Software Support Programs
